There are so many social media food trends out there. With the magic of ASMR voiceovers, along with highly influential editing apps, they all look and sound delicious! Combine that with the expense of groceries and it makes a lot of these trends even more gravitational. Sometimes following trends really works out, other times you’re left with soggy bread and an unusable bucket of avocado flour.
I made up the idea of avocado flour, but we live in a world where no one would be surprised if it existed, and in reality, it probably does. Update: it does exist! Avocado flour is made from blending the pit of an avocado. It exists despite the California Avocado Commission warning against consuming avocado pits.
Sorry for the avocado detour, but it kind of supports the point. Sometimes food trends aren’t as great as they seem. The problem is that sometimes they are. Sticking with avocados for a second, there are some really simple yet unique and tasty recipes for avocado toast floating around. Simple, tasty, and inexpensive, those are the key ingredients to a successful food trend. If one of those key ingredients are missing, it throws the entire time/cost/benefit ratio out the window.
At this point you would think that I am about to lay upon you the ultimate avocado toast. Perfect balance of ease, taste, and cost! Loaded with flavor, plus a perfect balance of carbs and protein to send all day long! Nope, I’m not doing that. Avocado toast was just a flavor-vista detour, but I do have a recommendation for a food trend that hits all the high points.
Snicker Protein Bars!
I’m not here to bring all the typical foodie adjectives, so I’ll just say that these protein bars are delicious. Also, protein bars are very expensive to buy from the grocery store, and while these are not exactly cheap, relative to store bought bars they are practically free. Also, they don’t have any preservatives. Did I mention they’re no-bake?
They don’t really taste like Snickers, so the name could use a makeover, but again, they are delicious! Maybe we could just call them Dihedral Bars? That has a nice ring to it!
Dihedral Bars!
Step 1: (Layer 1) Mix the following ingredients, put in bread pan, set in freezer, then move to next step.
- 2/3 cup Vanilla Protein Power + ½ cup Almond Flour + 4 tbsp Maple Syrup + 6 tbsp Non-Dairy Milk
Step 2: (Layer 2) Mix the following ingredients, add to bread pan (spread over Layer 1), freeze for 1-2 hours.
- ½ cup PB, 3 ½ tbsp Coconut Oil, 2 tbsp Maple Syrup, pinch of Sea Salt, 1/3 cup Peanuts
Step 3: Slice into bars, dip in melted chocolate, sprinkle with sea salt, place back in freezer to harden
Step 4: ENJOY!
That is literally it! Four simple steps, and don’t quote me on this but I think these bars offer 6,000g of protein, 4 metric tons of fiber, and nearly 17,000,000km of whole grains. I’d like to see you find those numbers in a store-bought protein bar.
That’s it, that’s theDIHEDRAL bar! Simple, delicious, and chock-full of health!
For those of you who came for avocados, I guess you could change out the protein powder for avocado powder or the coconut oil for avocado oil, but that seems like a terrible idea. Maybe rather than setting these bars in the freezer, you could set them in an avocado, but again, that doesn’t seem like an improvement. I’d just stick to the recipe as it is and focus on Step 4!
To avoid the charge of presenting click-bait, I’ll give you my simple recipe for avocado toast.
Toast an English Muffin, spread avocado on each half of the bread, sprinkle a few drops of soy sauce over the avocado, and top with red chili flakes.

Can’t wait to try these, and I just happen to have all of the ingredients on hand. Thanks for sharing your SnickerDihedral bar recipe.
