Getting Started in Climbing and Ninja

Q: How did you get into climbing?

A: I was first introduced to it at a friend’s birthday party. I decided to start training and join a squad when I quit gymnastics and was looking for something new to do.

Q: How did you get into Ninja Warrior?

A: I had a friend who was on the show and suggested I give it a try. After watching the season that was airing at the time, I felt like I would be competitive with those on the show.

Ninja Warrior Journey

Q: How long have you been doing Ninja Warrior?

A: I no longer train Ninja, but I started 5 years ago.

Q: What seasons did you compete on? How did you do?

A: I was on Australian Ninja Warrior Seasons 4, 5, and 6. I improved each year and was the second female to make it to the grand finale. I also competed on American Ninja Warrior Season 15, where I made it to the semifinals and raced against Taylor Greene.

Q: What’s your favorite obstacle? Why?

A: Any big laches because they just feel so fun—or endurance obstacles, because those are my strength.

Q: What was your best advice to people applying for American Ninja Warrior?

A: Start training as soon as you decide you’re interested in applying if you’re not already! For the application process itself, figure out what makes you unique or interesting and make sure to show it off.

Climbing Highlights

Q: Where is your favorite climbing gym? Why?

A: Skywood is my home gym and I love it there. The setting consistently requires focus, and I feel it helps me improve.

Q: What are some of your climbing accolades?

A: I’ve been Open A Women’s State Champion and placed 3rd at Nationals.

Fun Questions

Q: Who is your favorite Ninja Warrior to watch? Why?

A: Jessie Graff, because she is consistently a boss.

Q: If you were a Ninja Warrior obstacle, which one would you be? Why?

A: I’d be the warped wall because I like making people work a little harder before they get to the top.

Q: What do you like to do for fun outside of climbing and Ninja?

A: Hanging out with my dogs and going to the beach.

Q: If you could do any Olympic sport besides climbing, what would it be? Why?

A: When I was young I always wanted to try the luge. Looks like a great mix of scary and fun.

Q: If you could have lunch with any celebrity, who would it be? What would you order? Why?

A: P!nk. I’ve looked up to her since I was a kid for her strength and authenticity. She’s funny and doesn’t take herself too seriously. I’d eat anything!

Q: What’s on your bucket list?

A: My bucket list is pretty much filled with travel destinations and future dogs. Apart from climbing, those are my favorite things.

Q: If you were a candy, which one would you be? Why?

A: Turkish Delight, because half the people love me and half think I’m weird.

Q: What’s your favorite show to binge-watch? Why?

A: Any good mystery series, because I can’t stand not knowing!

Q: What’s a fact about you people would be surprised to learn?

A: My boyfriend and I live in a tiny house on wheels, and I hiked 2,600 miles from the Mexican border to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail.
