Yesterday, on 11/11 — a day of magic and wishes — I opened the wings of a project that’s been growing quietly on the side of everything else I do.
I’m beyond proud to share that we’ve officially launched a crowdfunding Seed&Spark campaign for the play I’ve been co-producing:
🦋 Death Has Butterfly Wings / La muerte tiene alas de mariposa

This project was born at the intersection of science, art, and grief, where pain doesn’t just end, but transforms.
In neuroscience, there’s a term for this: emotional neuroplasticity — the brain’s ability to reorganize itself when we choose to see things differently. That’s where Death Has Butterfly Wings began:
in the moment where loss becomes possibility, where what hurts can also awaken us.
Death Has Butterfly Wings is an artistic exploration of metamorphosis — a story that uses movement, language, and visual poetry to illuminate what happens when awareness replaces sorrow.
It’s a collaborative work that bridges cultures and disciplines, merging storytelling, science, and ritual into something that invites reflection and release.
The Dihedral has always been a space about pushing boundaries — physical, emotional, creative. And while climbing has taught me how to hold on, this play has taught me how to let go. Both require courage, breath, and trust in what lies on the other side.
I wanted to share it here because I know many of you get that kind of journey, the kind that reshapes you from the inside out.
Even if you can’t contribute financially, just following the campaign or sharing it helps us tremendously. Every little bit of visibility brings us closer to making this story come further alive on stage.
I’m endlessly grateful to this community for your inspiration, for the stories you share, for the way you climb through life.
Death Has Butterfly Wings is a love letter to change. And now, it’s ready to take flight.
Thank you for reading, supporting, and believing in art that transforms.
