Stepping Into Squid Game

Q: What season of Squid Game: The Challenge were you on?

A: Season 2.

Q: What number were you?

A: Player 110.

Q: What games did you compete in?

A: Pentathlon (House of Cards), Catch, Mingle, Marbles, Slides & Ladders, Circle of Trust, and various tests in between.

Why Melissa Took the Leap

Q: What made you want to apply to Squid Game: The Challenge?

A: I applied because I wanted to show my daughters what it looks like to take a big risk for something you believe in. I wanted them to see me be brave, challenge myself, and step into a moment that could change our lives. Squid Game was bigger than a show — it was a life-changing experience.

Inside the Games

Q: What was the toughest game, and why?

A: Circle of Trust. It wasn’t about strength or speed — it was raw vulnerability. Every choice felt like walking a tightrope between loyalty and survival. Your alliances, instincts, and relationships are all exposed, and one wrong read can send someone home.

Q: What did you learn about yourself from competing?

A: That I can walk into a room of 456 strangers and still trust who I am. I learned I’m resilient, loyal, intuitive, and tougher than I realized. Even in the craziest moments, I stayed true to myself.

What Comes Next

Q: What other competition shows would you want to compete on?

A: Survivor, The Amazing Race, The Traitors, The Challenge, The Mole, Million Dollar Secret, or Battle Camp. I’m drawn to shows that mix physical ability with strategy, social awareness, and mental toughness.

Q: What was your favorite part of the show?

A: The strategy and intensity. Every game forced you to trust your instincts and stay calm under pressure. Plus, I somehow found genuine friendships within the chaos.

Game On

Q: If you could pick a childhood game to play on a future Squid Game season, what would it be?

A: Musical Chairs. It’s messy, unpredictable, and loyalty disappears fast. Very Squid Game coded.

Q: What was your reaction when you found out you were chosen?

A: I instantly thought of my girls. I felt excitement, nerves, pride — everything at once. They were going to watch me go for something bigger than myself.

Life Beyond the Challenge

Q: What do you like to do for fun?

A: Running, staying active, making creative content, hair transformations, and spending time with my daughters.

Q: What is your go-to show to binge?

A: Survivor. The strategy and social gameplay never get old.

Q: If you could meet any celebrity, who would it be?

A: Parvati Shallow — she’s one of the greatest social players of all time. Competitive, charismatic, strategic.

Q: Go-to dessert?

A: Chocolate peanut butter ice cream — eaten straight out of the container with a fork.

Q: What’s a fact about you people would be surprised to learn?

A: I’ve run 27 half marathons, including two while pregnant.
