Last semester I took a Digital Photography class and was immersed in the world of Photoshop for three months, 6 hours a week. Throughout the semester, our professor assigned us “Creative Assignments” where we had to alter pictures taken by us during the current academic period. I was anxious at the beginning because I did not think I would have enough time nor creativity to take a variety of amazing looking pictures. I had counted on using my son as a model for all of the assignments! That’s what you get for being cute, I guess? But thankfully, our adventure filled life gave me the opportunity to explore with other objects and people as models. I must confess though, that some didn’t even know they were contributing to the project? Oops?
Taking this class was an amazing experience because it provided me with a variety of professional and creative tools. However, the most exciting part of it was pushing my creativity to the limit and witnessing the different way my classmates and I interpreted life. We all had different editing styles and interpretations of the projects being presented. I discovered- or further confirmed- my storytelling inclination and passion for fantastic themes. All of my projects have a story to tell and I felt like sharing them with you! I won’t tell you though, what they are supposed to mean. The beauty of art is that it can be interpreted many different ways! They say… Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?
Tell me, what do you see?

Alright, I see the yellow duck as the “Ugly Duckling”. It’s beautiful in its own unique way, but it doesn’t know that when it tries to be like the other ducks.
Nice photos.

Really cool, I would love to take a photoshop or graphic design class.

I recon it depends why you photoshop something, if it is to spruce up the “getting attension” to get people to stop and take a closer look. For marketing photoshopping is good for the visual effects and altering, but for personal memory it would not be adviseable.
Too many people get caught up in a fantasy life…
