I have a possible future installment for you: chocolate pudding. Everybody needs dessert now and then. It requires cocoa powder, sugar, dry milk, corn starch, and water. You make hot cocoa, thicken it with corn starch, then let it cool and set (or eat it still warm and partially set). (I guess you could use a cocoa mix, which would take care of 3 of the dry ingredients, but that takes half the fun out of it, as well as the sense of discovery when I made it the first time. Doesn’t everyone carry corn starch when backpacking?)

I mean if someone isn’t carrying corn starch, they probably aren’t actually hiking! We actually have a pudding recipe in the chute, but it lacks corn starch, so maybe we need to re-think our lives a little bit! This recipe sounds great though, and I’m adding it to a future menu at once!
