Climbing in Social Media

All the climbers out there I want you to go look at your Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram or any other social media platforms you may have. Do you have at least one rock climbing video or picture?! If so why did you post it?!
That is the question for all of us who have posted or posts rock climbing videos/pictures on social media.

Maybe you are posting to just show your love and passion for the sport. You may have just started, perhaps it was your first time rock climbing, and you want to flex a little bit. It was a new experience for you and why not show of? It could have been a night out climbing with your friends or date night with your significant other and you just want to show the fun time y’all had.

You could also be posting because you are a professional climber, and you are trying to update your sends or results from competitions to the fans who may not able to watch the live action. You may also be showing your love to all your sponsors, wearing and using their apparel and equipment so that their brands can keep growing in the rock climbing world.

People also try to become climbing influencers, they post climbing videos but may not be considered professional climbers. They may tag and reach out to climbing brands to be a sponsored athlete because of their following and likes on their social media. This is really hard nowadays because everyone is posting and making reels to be noticed and be that new climber influencer. But then you have to make sure you are always posting climbing posts that are trending and making sure you get that algorithm just right which is tougher than you think.

You may just post to update the family and friends, people you don’t see any more. In this case, it may just be to show those closest in your life your climbing journey.

Whatever your reason is for posting your climbing videos and pictures. I recommend it fully because it is a growing sport, and your own climbing journey is an accomplishment in itself and should be spread to your closest family and friends or to try to reach millions on social media. Just keep spreading the love and the sport of climbing!
