Francis Sanzaro

On this episode we are joined by a climber who has done it all.   Francis Sanzaro is a philosopher, writer, climber, poet, journalist, and among several other things former editor-in-chief for Rock and Ice as well as Ascent Magazine.  You can find him giving a recent TED talk on the psychology of risk and wilderness, as well as finding his work in places such as the New York Times and Huffington Post.  He’s written several interesting books including Society Elsewhere: Why the Gravest Threat to Humanity Will Come From Within and The Boulderer: A Philosophy for Bouldering.  If someone asked me to invent the perfect guest, I don’t think I could do any better than Francis.

Personally, this was one of my most enjoyable discussions to date, Francis is intelligent, thoughtful, down to earth, and full of interesting stories, ideas, and advice. It was a pleasure to visit with him and I hope you find the same pleasure in listening to this latest episode.

HERE is a link to our talk. You can also find it on iTunes, Spotify, and anywhere else where podcasts are streamed. As always, thank you for listening!

This was by far my favorite conversation on your podcast. 2 very fun intelligent guys with passion for life & Phi of it. 2 gems I took away; “Attention is the last great resource we have” & “There’s a difference in being alive & living” Thank you.
