Gear Review: Climbing shoes.
Company: Scarpa.
Product: Scarpa HELIX, Women.
I have to recognize that, as stated on Scarpa’s webpage, this climbing shoe is indeed one of the most popular in their line based on how many climbers in my gym own them (including myself). Its padded tongue, heel cup, and lacing has made this shoe a go to/comfortable choice for beginners and seasoned climbers looking for an all day climbing option. I include myself in the bunch of beginners unsure of what shoe to buy and being completely seduced by its vibrant orange/teal color and how comfortably they hugged my feet; as well as how affordable they were ! Its Vibram XS Edge rubber gives it resistance and consistent performance, as well as a great edging platform. However, these are not aggressive shoes, therefore if you are aiming for something more technical, these are not the pair for you. Overall, Scarpa HELIX is a comfortable all-around climbing shoe perfect for novice and experienced climbers aiming for comfort and affordability.
Recommendation: Beginners; all skill levels.
