A couple of weeks ago, Carrot brought up how interesting it would be to discuss current and niche topics in the podcast in a laidback ‘friends getting together’ manner. We reached out to two of our close friends, Kaitlin and Payson, and the idea of Climbers vs. Culture emerged. So be ready to listen to three friends getting together to talk about straight-up bs for close to an hour. Just kidding (not really), we covered the first topic of TheDihedral’s Climbing vs. Culture mini series, Dirtbags and Dirtbaging.
In all honesty, we ended up talking about everything and nothing at the same time. We had not talked openly to each other in a long time and it was the first time catching up in years. Both Kait and Payson are climbing friends from our local gym; however, one moved out of state a long time ago and the other is in grad school. Therefore, you will be catching up with us too.
The topic in question is discussed from our own perspective and based on our experiences in the climbing community. Beware that the latter ranges from vast to limited, so the answers to the questions and the comments that follow suit will vary and are in no way set in stone. Which means that you might define a dirtbag and gauge on your dating experience with one (or lack thereof) differently than us.
We invite you to join us on this journey and to bear with our ability to veer off topic often. But hey! You might get entertained.

Let’s catch up!
Hadn’t realised but I’d offloaded the apps on my iPad for the possibility to access podcasts. Trying to get enough space on the now old iPad model I own to house a video editor app. Gave up after it still didn’t have enough ‘space’. Anyways. Tapped into your podcasts and re-downloaded Spotify so I could listen. As an aside. My son in law ‘podcast’ contributes and talks all things cinema and films? He’s a really knowledgable film buff! So I can now look him in the eyes having actually listened. Tried the top of your list and listened to a fair few minutes of ‘Lucia’. Lots of climbing technicalities. So obviously difficult choice for myself to tap in to. Really interesting and relaxing in presentation. Looking forward to the others that are talking other subjects. Noticed you had a large amount of choices for podcast platform listening. Really great organisation. Cheers and all the best.

This is so great to read, thank you! We will keep trying to add content that isn’t overly technical, but just to know that you gave the show a listen is really uplifting! Thank you for the support, it means the world!
