Cragies and Snackies

Don’t sleep on Sedona!

Anvil Boulders, Desert Flour

Sedona, AZ is famously known because of it beautiful red rocks and the change of its rock’s color palette. In addition to that, there are a few climbing gems that accentuate the experience. Are you interested in hitting some rocks and then filling your tummy with something equally as marvelous? We got you!

Anvil Boulders is the best bouldering crag in Sedona. Its approach is short and can be accessed from two different areas: the north end of Sedona off Highway 89A OR parking area for the Huckaby and Marg’s Draw trails. There are 43 total climbs, with bouldering that ranges from V0 all the way to V10.

Let the sandstone seduce your hands!

After a fun, hard-core session of bouldering, hunger makes an appearance. Do not fret, as a delicious bakery lies only 7.6 miles away from the site. The Desert Flour is the spot where all your pastries dreams will come true.

The Desert Flour has been serving the community of Sedona for over 20 years. Famous for their bread pudding, you are going to want to be the first in line to claim a piece (trust me!). Their dessert is made with the pastries that were not consumed the previous day, therefore, each time the recipe varies a little, and your experience will as well.

The bakery’s menu includes products that range from traditional pastries to savory items too. However, I must say their bread products are what’s up!

Unfortunately, there is not much information online about their menu, so you are going to have to trust me on this one. Go to Desert Flour and ask for bread pudding, if they already ran out, go for anything pastry, you’ll be pleased.

Anvil Boulders and Desert Flour, quite a Sedona experience!

Rock-On!

  1. I could not agree more. I bring on hikes as well. The best bread pudding on the planet. Soups are also yummy Asparagus soup is my favorite. Cranberry walnut bread is worth the carbs too.
