Lorcana Tournament

Hey guys, for those of you who don’t know, my wife and I are huge Disney fans and we started a few months ago collecting and playing against each other a recently new trading card game called Lorcana. Here’s some info about the TCG… Disney Lorcana is a Disney-themed trading card game (TCG) created by Ravensburger in collaboration with Disney. In the game, you become an Illumineer, using magical ink to summon Disney characters, items, songs, and locations to collect 20 Lore before your opponent.

What makes Lorcana stand out is that it combines strategy with beautiful original Disney artwork. You’ll find familiar characters like Mickey Mouse, Elsa, Stitch, and Maleficent, along with unique versions of them that exist only in Lorcana. Players build 60-card decks using up to two ink colors, creating different strategies and playstyles.

Whether you’re collecting rare cards, playing casually with friends, or competing in local tournaments and championships, Lorcana has something for every Disney fan. It’s easy to learn but offers plenty of depth as you improve and customize your decks.

Now my wife usually works Sunday, but this past Sunday she had off and a release of a new set came out that she wanted at our local comic book store where we buy our cards. So we signed up for a tournament there for the pre-release and I must say it was pretty fun! It was by rounds you got to open two packs and those were your decks each round and if you win you play a winner if you lose play someone who also lost. I lost my first match pretty bad, but the guy I was playing was helping me in the game and still beating me. I found out he won a 25,000 Lorcana tournament and got invited to Atlanta to compete for 50,000! So needless to say that was awesome just being able to play him in general and learn some tips. He was very humble and liked helping me as a new player level on my first real tournament, come to find out he’s an engineer too. So after that I played these two other players the second game I won by a large margin but sometimes it’s all about luck on what you draw from your packs. The last game it was close but I came out ahead and won some more packs for my wife and I! Overall I had a blast, it was a welcoming community and didn’t feel pressure. I will definitely compete again one day, but I’m enjoying on my first ever Lorcana tournament getting 9th place out of 20 and with a record of 2-1!

Go out and just have fun that’s all that matters at the end of the day!
