The Olympics are coming up so let’s talk about a Team USA Pistons/Timberwolves Olympic dream team to compete. To be honest there hasn’t been too many from either team that has competed while on either team. We do have some that have been on the Pistons or Timberwolves that have competed after being traded or before. This article just focuses on the players that played in any Olympics while still on the Pistons or Timberwolves and how they did!
The Olympics men’s basketball team has such an amazing history of teams from the dream team, redeem team and the future teams! But let’s take a look at the Pistons and Timberwolves team USA players now!
Detroit Pistons:
• Tayshaun Prince — 2008 Beijing
Gold
• Jerami Grant — 2020 Tokyo
Gold
Minnesota Timberwolves:
• Kevin Garnett — 2000 Sydney
Gold
• Kevin Love — 2012 London
Gold
• Anthony Edwards — 2024 Paris
Gold
Now that’s a good mix of team USA teams on here that have won gold. One thing I love about the Olympic basketball teams that it is very team oriented. These teams have put the teams above themselves all to represent team USA as a whole. I personally am a big fan of the 2008 gold medal team and 2000 gold medal teams just because those 2000’s teams had some tough players but players that had some style to their game also. They also faced some tough competitors at the Olympics because those other countries during that time were no joke! Timberwolves have a slight edge in this category because of most recent and more overall gold medals but all these players deserve some respect on their name for them representing and winning!
