G-league!
Oh my gosh I saw this and the first thought that came to my mind was that would be awesome to just say I tried out for a NBA team!
Let’s start from the beginning, a few NBA teams are holding open tryouts for their g-league affiliate teams coming up. You have to pay a certain fee and register a few paperwork of health and pretty much waiver/agreements. But at these tryouts will be front office and coaching staff of those NBA teams. I can only imagine the amount of ex-college hoopers, ex high school hoopers and mega fans and everybody in between trying out. I honestly would love to just go do it if I had the money because you have to pay depending on the team 150$-300$ for the open tryout that runs about 3 hours from what I’m seeing. I also would go for it if not for the traveling too, I think closest one would be the Texas Legends the G-league affiliate team for the Dallas Mavericks that would be happening in Dallas of course. I saw one one of the posts about it, some of the teams, when you register and try out, you get your own reversible g-league practice jersey which you get to keep and two tickets to one of that teams games the upcoming season.
I would not only count as “playing” or “trying out” for an official NBA team but for those few hours being a part of that organization no matter what the results happen to be at the end of it. I think it is so cool they are doing this, some people think it’s a publicity stunt which it may be but there are a few players that have done that in the past and have played years in the NBA so you never know. But if you are interested definitely check out the different teams social media pages because I know some are happening at the end of the month and beginning of next month.
P.S.- Carrot’s Detroit Pistons G-league affiliate team the Motor City Cruise are holding tryouts and I think he should do it just to say he’s done it!
